E308L-16 3/16 DIAMETER ELECTRODE

The weld deposit, with controlled ferrite, gives excellent notch toughness at -320°F (-196°C). It has a smooth running arc that results in a uniform weld bead that is flat to slightly convex. E308L/308L-16 is primarily designed for welding type 308L base metal with low or medium carbon content. Excellent for welding 18Cr-8Ni steels. -15 and -17 coatings available upon request.

• An extra low carbon electrode for the welding of type 304L, 321, and 347 stainless steels.
• The controlled ferrite in the weld deposit gives excellent notch toughness at cryogenic temperatures.
• This electrode deposits a max of 4% carbon in the weld metal to minimize the formation of chromium carbides and consequent susceptibility to intergranular corrosion.
• Typical applications includes used on food and pharmaceutical equipment and also for architectural fabrication.
• Conforms to certification: AWS A5.9 and ASME SFA A5.9.
• Ideal for welding Types 304L, 321, and 347 stainless steels.
