This filler metal is the most popular grade among stainless steels. Carbon content in the range of .04 - .08 provides higher strength at elevated temperatures. Used for general purpose applications where corrosion conditions are moderate. Can also be certified as 308H.

• Used for TIG welding of un-stabilized stainless steels such as Types 301, 302, 304, 305, 308.
• The high carbon deposit provides creep strength and a high tensile strength at elevated temperatures
• Conforms to AWS A5.9
• ER308H is designed for welding Type 304H material and similar materials, such as AISI grades 301, 302, and 304
